In autumn 2024, the launch of the high-tech refrigerator trawler "Merlang" (Project TR 446) took place at the Akhtubinsk Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant in the Astrakhan region. The vessel is being built by order of the Murmansk company JSC "Nord West F.K.", and the project was developed by the design bureau LLC "Forss Technologies".
We are proud to announce that our company, LLC NPO "Bronya", has made a significant contribution to the creation of this modern vessel! Our official representative actively participated in the implementation of this project, providing the supply and professional application of our ultra-thin thermal insulation.
To solve the complex thermal insulation challenges on the vessel, our non-flammable modification, "Bronya Classic NF", was chosen. This choice is completely natural: the material is applied like ordinary paint in a thin layer, yet it fully performs its functions as a powerful thermal insulator. The use of our liquid thermal insulation on vessels of this class not only ensures reliable protection against heat loss but also significantly saves valuable space and reduces the overall weight of the vessel compared to traditional bulky insulation materials. At the same time, the coating fully meets the strictest fire safety requirements, which is critically important in shipbuilding.
The trawler "Merlang" is designed for harsh operating conditions in the Northern Fishing Basin (the Barents and Norwegian Seas). Completion of construction and sea trials were initially planned for spring 2025. Currently, the vessel is undergoing preparation stages and has not yet been put into operation. We eagerly await the moment when all necessary work is completed and the new trawler sets out for full-scale fishing of flounder, saithe, cod, and haddock.
We express our gratitude to our Kostroma dealer for the excellent work! The innovative products of "Bronya" continue to prove their high effectiveness on the most complex industrial and shipbuilding projects, helping to renew the fishing fleet of our country.
