Thermal insulation Bronya Winter
Liquid extra-fine thermal insulation Bronya Winter. First time in Russia a liquid thermal insulation material has been developed which can be worked with at temperatures of up to -35°С. Thermal insulating paint Bronya Winter is a recent development in the extra-fine liquid ceramic thermal insulating materials line. Unlike any other liquid ceramic thermal insulating materials (LCTIM) represented in the Russian market, Bronya Winter can be applied at freezing and positive temperatures from -30°С to +30° С, whereas lowest temperature for regular LCTIM is +5 to +7° С. Thermal insulation Bronya Winter consists of special acrylic polymers and hollow vacuumized ceramic microspheres, as well as coloring, fire-retardant, rheological and inhibiting agents.

How to select solvent for thermal insulation Bronya Winter
According to the surface application guideline, extra-fine thermal insulation Bronya Winter needs to be diluted to working viscosity by orthoxylene. Other solvents can also be used.
In order to select a right solvent it can be tested on a small amount of the thermal insulation. If a solvent is not suitable for the job, the thermal insulation can coagulate or lose its adhesive properties (the material will become oily and will stop adhere to the surface).
Usage of White Spirit as a solvent is not allowed!
Video instruction of a trial and error method of solvent
Solvent test procedure:
- Place a small amount of the material which has not been diluted by any solvents into a freezer in a tightly closed package.
- Keep the sample at temperature below zero for 24 hours.
- Open the frozen sample. The material will be thick but not suitable for application.
- Add the tested solvent into the sample and mix.
- If the material is well mixing and does not break into fractions, you can test material adhesion property.
- Material which has a good working consistency shall be easily applied onto the surface with negative temperature by a brush (IMPORTANT!) without sliding off the surface.
- Maintain interlayer drying for 24 hours.
- With a right solvent, Bronya Winter would have good adhesion properties but would not peel-off the surface. The polymerized coat can be removed from the surface only by physical impact.
- Provided that all listed above conditions are satisfied, we can say that a solvent has been selected correctly.
Bronya engineering department recommends to use orthoxylene.
Orthoxylene is stable and disperses better. Other solvents are produced not only by different manufacturers but also per different technical specifications Effect from a low grade or oily solvent is described above.
Our recommendations:
Orthoxylene;
No 646 – test first using small amount;
No 649 – test first using small amount;
No 650 – test first using small amount;
Solvent naphtha - absolutely forbidden;
White spirit - absolutely forbidden.
Please note that Bronya Winter must be diluted by a solvent what depends on item surface and the way the thermal insulation is applied as well as on ambient air and coated surface temperature.
IMPORTANT! Before application, Bronya Winter must be thoroughly mixed but not exceeding maximum allowed revolutions recommended in the Bronya Winter guidelines.
