Dear colleagues, we are sharing with you an interesting case study from our dealer "Bronya Nizhny Novgorod". A regular customer approached them with an interesting task: to find a coating that would adhere to both metal and plastic elements in a detailing studio's box.
Customer's Objective:
For metal elements: a coating was needed that would provide priming, aesthetics, anti-corrosion protection, and not require additional protective surfaces beyond moisture resistance.
For plastic elements: the coating had to provide high adhesion.
The task was challenging, considering that different surfaces typically require different coatings (or a combination: primer and water protection for metal, plastic adhesion promoter and protection for plastic).
Solution:
Our solution was Bronya MetalElastik, a rubberized, super-moisture-resistant coating with a pronounced anti-corrosion effect. The rubberized coating adheres well to "plastic" elements such as various composites (polycarbonate, panels, carbon fiber, epoxy, PET, etc.).
Application Process:
In the photo and video report, you will see various solutions that can be scaled. A plus for the customer was that our partner not only sold and delivered the material but also applied it themselves (having knowledge of the specific application techniques for our coatings).
Metal elements were sanded, dusted, and degreased.
Plastic elements were dusted and degreased (adhesion was tested on the plastic panels, and the customer was satisfied).
The entire box was completely ("in the round") coated with Bronya MetalElastik using an airless spraying apparatus.
Despite the low consumption and high efficiency of the material, it was decided to apply two layers for reliability.
Initially, the customer planned to have the coating tinted, but upon learning that the coating is easily washable, they decided to leave it white.
