In September - October 2017, as part of emergency response work at the oldest church in the city - the Church of the Monk Confessor Nikita of Midiki, located at Volgograd, st. Abganerovskaya 110a. Works were carried out to protect the roof with the Polymer Waterproofing Bronya AquaBlock. The total coverage area was 480 m2. The material was applied in two layers, to preserve the color perception of the roof, the material was tinted, the work was carried out using an auto-hydro lift. The primer layer was applied with a roller, and the base coat with a brush. The time of work, taking into account weekends and holidays, was two weeks, while the operating mode of the Temple did not change. The ease of application and the possibility of tinting made it possible to comply with the restoration and regulatory requirements for the unchanged appearance of the Temple. In the course of designing, NPO Bronya requested test materials for waterproofing Bronya AquaBlock and carried out test applications at the seam joints of the roof. The material showed its plasticity and high hiding power, when tinted, the absorption of the dye was within the normal range, and also showed resistance to mechanical stress.
History reference:
