We present a photo report on the thermal insulation of the ceiling beams in the basement of a University building in Turku, Finland. The main criterion for choosing the insulation method was the final thickness of the thermal protection coating. To eliminate condensation on the basement ceiling beams, the Bronya Facade modification was applied in a layer 4.5 mm thick, using an airless spray machine. The total thickness of the finished surface with Bronya Facade was 16.5 mm (4.5 mm Bronya Facade + interior finish), which is significantly different from traditional protection, where the total thickness would be 104 mm (70 mm of thermal insulation + 22 mm of sheathing + 12 mm of interior finish). The result was a lightweight, breathable, and thermally insulated structure.
