Polymeric Waterproofing Bronya AquaBlock on the roof of the House of Trade Unions, Volgograd (photo)

We present you the photo report on the application to the roof of the House of Trade Unions in Volgograd Polymer Hydraulic Insulator Broya  AquaBlock. Coverage area is 1500 sq.m. The designers decided to cover the roof of the House of Trade Unions with the Polymeric Waterproofing AquaBlock Effects in order to combat the existing holes from corrosion in the roofing.
The material is plastic, in comparison with analogues tested previously, the use of Bronya Aquablock proved to be more economical and in many respects it clearly transcended. The application was made layer by layer with a total thickness of 2 mm, the first layer was applied with a brush, and the second with a roller. In the course of the design, SIA Bronya  requested the trial materials of the AquaBlock Waterproofing and the test applications were made in the places of the seam connections of the roof. The material showed its plasticity and high opacity, as well as resistance to mechanical influences.

The Palace of Culture of Trade Unions  is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. In this building, as well as in the adjacent high-rise building on Sovetskaya Street, the Volgograd Regional Council of Trade Unions is located.

The building was built in 1957 by the architect V.E. Maslyaev. It includes a semicircular volume overlooking Lenin Avenue, and a rectangular volume with a courtyard. All facades of the building are decorated with colonnades and various decorative elements. Thanks to this the Palace is one of the examples of late Stalinist architecture in the city of Volgograd.

The Stalinist slogan "Work in the USSR is a matter of honor, glory, valor and heroism" is placed above the central entrance on the pediment. Since the approval of the budget for the construction of the building in 1951 and its commissioning took place XX Congress of the CPSU, which condemned the cult of Stalin's personality, a caption does not contain a signature, and above it depicts the profile of Lenin.
