There's a regular electric stove mounted on the wall. The hot burner is divided into two parts: on the left, there's a cezve with boiling water, while the right side is covered with an ultrathin layer of thermal insulation material, on which you can safely place your hand. This is how our company demonstrated the effectiveness of ultrathin liquid thermal insulation at an exhibition in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).
This year, the exhibition in the UAE saw a record number of visitors, with over 2,500 exhibitors from 70 countries alone. The main topic of discussion among specialists at the exhibition was new building materials and energy- and resource-saving technologies. Our company presented its latest developments, which align with this modern construction trend.
However, even the most "advanced" product cannot guarantee a company commercial success, given the specifics of doing business in the Middle East. That's why UK Prime Minister David Cameron, despite his tight schedule in the UAE, still found time to visit the exhibition, talk to visitors, and support his country's companies.
Russian companies are trying to "break into" the region, but it's not easy without government-level support. Chinese, Korean, and American companies receive powerful support; you can always see politicians and celebrities at their booths. Our companies don't have this, and yet they are still making a breakthrough.
The Persian Gulf promises to become a "Klondike" for the construction business in the near future. In the coming years, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar plan to invest more than $1.8 trillion in various construction projects, with the majority (around 35%) going to the UAE. In Qatar, which will host the FIFA World Cup in 2022, there are plans to invest more than $100 billion in various construction projects over the next four years. Mass construction will continue in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait. The question is which partners these countries will be able to attract to their projects.
