In the summer of 2025, large-scale pipeline thermal insulation work was carried out at one of the largest metallurgical plants in the Volgograd region — a leading producer of stainless steel in the Russian Federation. On the enterprise's territory, between the boiler house and the workshops, there is an extended steam pipeline (forward and return supply), as well as pipelines with shut-off valves ranging from 200 to 400 mm in diameter.
We were faced with clear objectives: to reduce heat loss in the most economically feasible way, ensure an aesthetic appearance, insulate hard-to-reach areas and assemblies where traditional insulation is virtually impossible to apply, and complete the work in the shortest possible time. The non-flammable material "Bronya Classic NF" was chosen for the project. At the customer's request, the composition was tinted to a light gray color using a water-based acrylic tint. Depending on the operating temperatures (from 80 to 110 °C) and specific goals, the coating was applied in varying thicknesses — on average 1–1.5 mm, in 2–3 layers respectively.
Preparatory work included cleaning and degreasing the surface. The bulk of the material was applied using an airless spray unit in 1–3 layers, while complex-shaped assemblies were treated with brushes. The average final coating thickness was 1 mm (applied in two passes). In all areas, a surface temperature below 45 °C was achieved during the summer period. In January 2026, control measurements of the coating's effectiveness were carried out. The results confirmed the effective properties of "Bronya" (thermal barrier effect): depending on the thickness of the "Bronya" coating, the surface temperature decreased to a range between 17 °C and 35.3 °C.
The customer was completely satisfied with the obtained result, which once again confirmed the calculated thermal conductivity of the material at the level of 0.001 W/m·°C. This project at the "Red October" plant clearly demonstrates that 1 mm of "Bronya" coating can effectively replace 50 mm of traditional mineral wool, while simultaneously providing durable anticorrosion protection and an impeccable appearance for industrial facilities.
NPO "Bronya" continues to confirm its status as a leader in the production of innovative thermal insulation, working with the largest enterprises in Russia and ensuring high standards of energy efficiency even in the most challenging industrial conditions — both across the planet and in its home region.
