We are pleased to share another large-scale success of our products in the housing and communal services sector and large-scale thermal power engineering! Ultra-thin liquid ceramic thermal insulation "Bronya" has been officially included in the major overhaul project of the main heating networks of PJSC "Kurgan Generating Company".
The work involved a critical section of the city's heat supply — a heating main running along three streets of Kurgan. The overhaul affected two key sections with a total length of several kilometers:
1. Main 2Du1000 (pipes with a diameter of Ø1020x12.0 mm).
2. Underground heating network 2Du600 (pipes with a diameter of Ø630x10.0 mm) in non-passable reinforced concrete channels.
The operating conditions of the network are extremely harsh: the coolant temperature during the heating season reaches 115 °C with an operating pressure of up to 12 kgf/cm² and a test pressure of 16 kgf/cm². For Bronya thermal insulation, this is a standard task — our materials easily work on surfaces with temperatures up to 500 °C and above.
To ensure maximum reliability, minimize heat losses, and protect pipelines from external corrosion, an integrated approach was used with three materials from our line:
1. **"Bronya Classic NF" (2.5 mm)** — non‑flammable base thermal insulation barrier.
2. **"Bronya Lite AirLess" (2.5 mm)** — additional thermal protection reinforcement.
3. **"Bronya Aquablock Expert NF" (2 mm)** — finishing waterproofing layer with mandatory reinforcement with mesh tape to protect against high groundwater and flood waters.
To maximize the speed of the overhaul work, a combined method of coating application was successfully implemented:
1. Most of the pipes were insulated in advance in fabrication shops. Layer‑by‑layer application (0.5 mm each with 24‑hour drying per layer) under comfortable workshop conditions using airless spraying ensured ideal polymerization and thickness control. The final layer was checked with a wet‑film micrometer until the design thickness of 2.5 mm was achieved.
2. Some of the pipelines were coated directly at the site in their installed state.
3. After pipe laying, only the welded joints and connections remained to be insulated directly in the trench.
This approach made it possible to drastically reduce the time trenches remained open and minimize the impact of weather conditions on the project completion deadlines!
It is worth emphasizing that solutions based on Bronya thermal insulation were successfully tested at Kurgan facilities several years ago, but it is from this year that their application has become truly widespread. During the heating season and in conditions of economic turbulence, the issue of optimizing costs becomes extremely acute. The cost‑effectiveness of liquid armor allows major overhaul projects to be implemented on almost any budget of heating companies, HOAs, management companies, or municipal utilities. No matter how tight the budget, the volume of work on preparing networks for winter does not decrease, and with Bronya materials, they are completed faster, more reliably, and much more profitably!
